The history of ROLCO begins in 1948 when the first production unit of paints and detergents was founded in Moschato under the name “VIANIL Coloring Mills of Moschato” and today it is the largest purely Greek industry in the field of detergents and cleaning agents.
Ten years later, ROLCO presents the first detergent in powder form, a product of its own research and production. ROL was destined to write its own history in the detergent industry. With its innovative, biodegradable formulation, it quickly established itself as the most trusted helper of the Greek housewife.
The experience, high technical training and insight of the company’s people are confirmed in 1968 with AVA, the first dishwashing product in liquid form, the first “cosmetic in your kitchen”.The same experience and training, combined with the obsession to create innovative products to better meet the needs of consumers, has been and continues unabated by the people of ROLCO. For decades, ROLCO’s products have been in every Greek home and have solved the problems of households, combining high quality and attractive prices.
Our company’s products have been particularly loved by Greek consumers, have written their own history and continue to gain more and more preference.
The effort to improve existing products and create new ones is a continuous process in which ROLCO follows with dedication and determination, responding to the needs of its consumers.
In 1962, the first year of organised industrial production and commercial activity, ROLCO had a share capital of DEM 14 million, was housed in a 6 000 m2 site and employed a total of 15 people.
Today ROLCO is the largest and most modern detergent production unit in Greece.
With 65 years of activity, the company has recorded significant innovations, such as the creation of the first powder detergent, the first dishwashing liquid and the first detergent with fully biodegradable ingredients, and has since then managed to establish itself at the top of the detergent product range.
In this context, in 2008 ROLCO innovates again with the launch of the planet detergent and cleaner range. The complete range of detergents and cleaners that respects the environment and makes ecology an affordable choice for everyone. They are the first cleaners certified with the European Ecolabel.
